735-85 Double Horse
Congratulations on buying the NEW 735-85. This model replaces our fantastic 9074. There has been serveral improvements with this new model including the latest Gyroscope system.
Here are my Top Tips and Top Fixes for these models
Top Tips
Your best flying conditions are on still days, the more wind the less fun you will have.
Do NOT use rechargeable batteries in the remote. Just use standard AA (6) batteries as they will last ages.
Ensure you have plugged the battery into the side of Helicopter before flight and unplug after flight. This lead is also used to charge the battery
Don't fly around or near obstacles! Tree vs Helicopter - Tree Wins.
Most people purchase a second battery to increase flying time, just swap out the battery when one goes dead. This gives you about 20mins flying time.
Charging the batteries takes less than 1hr so don't leave them charging all night. This may cause a fire if the overcharge protection doesn't kick in.
Top Fixes
My Helicopter wont fly - does it have power? check if the front light is going. If not have you turned on the helicopter at the switch and plugged the red lead in? Turn on the controller does the light come on? If not change batteries in the remote, if yes then give the helicopter full throttle then back to zero then back to half way. (This will force the two of them to talk to each other)
My Helicopter takes off backwards or sideways slightly. This just maybe the Gyro settling if it keeps moving then place the helicopter on a table and turn it on for 10 seconds and off for 10 seconds 5 times. This is also sometimes caused by GROUND EFFECT - that meas the ground is effecting the flight of helicopter because it is low to the ground. Get the helicopter up to about a 1 metre off the ground and it will settle itself without any correction or trimming.
Lower Grip dissconnection - This happens after a crash, everything looks fine and the blades seem to turn o.k but the helicopter wont lift off the ground. What has happened here is the lower grip (lower blades) have let go of the outshaft. Undo the 2 screws just below the blades about 4 turns and you should be able to lift the blades up the shaft towards the top blades. Do you see the two holes on the shaft? this is where you need to locate those 2 screws.
I was flying ok and land (aka crashed) and now there is no power to the helicopter. This is a simple fix usually, take the nose cover off and have a look at the 3 white plugs on the circuit board. One of these has usually popped off. Just push it back down.
I was flying ok and land (aka crashed) and now only one of the rotors turns. Same as above, take the nose cover and have a look at the 3 white plugs.
Loud Grinding sound and struggles to lift off - This can be caused by the cogs loosing teeth. Slowly turn the blades and chech the white cogs for missing teech.
