Hawkspy LT-711 & LT-712

As requested by many customers they want a good qualitly Rc Helicopter with a built-in Camera.  The Hawkspy LT series is just the helicopter for the job.

Here are my Top Tips and Top Fixes for these models.

Top Tips

  1. Your best flying conditions are on still days, the more wind the less fun you will have.
  2. Do NOT use rechargeable batteries in the remote. Just use standard AA (6) batteries as they will last ages.
  3. Ensure you have plugged the battery into the side of Helicopter before flight and unplug after flight. This lead is also used to charge the battery
  4. Don't fly around or near obstacles! Tree vs Helicopter - Tree Wins.
  5. Most people purchase a second battery to increase flying time, just swap out the battery when one goes dead. This gives you about 20mins flying time.
  6. Charging the batteries takes less than 1hr for LT-712 and 1.5hrs for Lt-711 so don't leave them charging all night. This may cause a fire if the overcharge protection doesn't kick in.

Top Fixes

  1. My Helicopter wont fly - does it have power? check if the front light is going. If not have you turned on the helicopter at the switch and plugged the red lead in? Turn on the controller does the light come on? If not change batteries in the remote, if yes then give the helicopter full throttle then back to zero then back to half way. (This will force the two of them to talk to each other)
  2. My Helicopter takes off backwards or sideways slightly. This just maybe the Gyro settling if it keeps moving then place the helicopter on a table and turn it on for 10 seconds and off for 10 seconds 5 times. This is also sometimes caused by GROUND EFFECT - that meas the ground is effecting the flight of helicopter because it is low to the ground. Get the helicopter up to about a 1 metre off the ground and it will settle itself without any correction or trimming.
  3. Loud winding sound and the helicopter struggles to get off the ground.  This is usually caused by the front small cog being stripped ie loosing its teech.  You will need a good light behind you to see, but your looking at the cog beside the motor cog.  It is hard to see so look clearfully and slowly wind the blades around looking at the cog for missing teeth.
