What can I use DJI Mic with?
You can use DJI Mic with a range of devices, including cameras, smartphones (only Lightning & USB-C ports are supported), computers, Osmo Action 3, and Osmo Mobile 6.

Do I need to activate DJI Mic?
DJI Mic is ready to use without activation. Get registered on the official DJI website and you can get a one year warranty extension.

Is DJI Mic equipped with encryption technology?
DJI’s proprietary encryption technology is in place to protect audio transmission.

How does Safety Track work and what are its functions?
After powering on, a backup sound track will be recorded in -6dB in case the main track gets distorted due to a sudden increase of source audio volume.

What’s the difference between Mono and Stereo?
DJI Mic supports two recording modes: Mono and Stereo. Under Stereo mode, audio from the two transmitters can be recorded via separate channels, and under Mono mode, audio will be recorded via one channel.

How long does it take to fully charge the transmitters and receiver using the Charging Case? How long does it take to fully charge the Charging Case?
At room temperature, it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to fully charge the transmitters and receiver using the Charging Case. It takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes to fully charge the Charging Case.

How do I link the transmitter with the receiver of DJI Mic (1 TX + 1 RX)?
The transmitter and receiver are already linked by default and ready to use after powering on. If you need to link them again, first turn on the receiver and transmitter. Scroll the screen of the receiver downward to enter the control center page. Slide to the left and tap “Settings” to enter the settings page. Slide to the left again and tap “Link” to enter linking mode. Then, press and hold the link button on the side of the transmitter until the green light on the top-left corner flashes and wait for the linking to finish. When the linking indicators of the transmitter turn solid green, it means the linking is successful. To end linking, click “Stop Linking.”

How long does it take to fully charge the transmitter and the receiver of DJI Mic (1 TX + 1 RX) using the splitter charging cable?
It is recommended to use a 5V/2A charger to charge the transmitter and receiver. At room temperature, it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to fully charge the transmitter and receiver using the splitter charging cable.

Will the back clip and clip magnets affect my bank cards?
All magnetic products contain magnets. It is recommended to keep the DJI Mic back clip and clip magnets away from bank cards, pacemakers, RAM chips, and hard discs.

What should I be aware of when using the DJI Mic back clip and clip magnets?
1. DO NOT use when wearing heavy clothes (sweaters, down jackets, etc.). The transmitters could fall off due to lack of magnetism. 2. Use with caution during vigorous exercise, for example, jumping, sprinting etc.

What chargers can I use to charge the DJI Mic transmitters, receiver, and Charging Case? Does it support fast charging?

Where can I mount DJI Mic transmitters?
It is recommended to use the back clip to attach DJI Mic to places like your collar, or you can use the DJI Mic clip magnets. Note: If you need to put the transmitters on any flat surface, use the magnet in the combo to make them stand upright.

How do DJI Mic transmitters receive audio signals? Is it directional or omni-directional?
Omni-directional.

How do I update the firmware of the DJI Mic transmitters and receiver?
1. Download the firmware update package from the official DJI website Download page;
2. Connect the transmitters and receiver to your computer using a standard USB-C cable;
3. Put the downloaded firmware update package (the file with bin as a suffix) under the root directories of the transmitters and receiver;
4. Disconnect from your computer and the transmitters and receiver will start the firmware update automatically;
Note: If an update fails, download and copy the firmware again and reboot the transmitters and receiver. Repeat until the firmware update is successful.

What’s the maximum reception distance of the DJI Mic receiver?
250 meters with FCC compliance in open environments without interference (160 m under CE).

What is the reception latency of the DJI Mic receiver?
Reception latency was measure in a lab environment to be approximately 15 ms, which is essentially negligible.

How do I link the transmitters with the receiver?
DJI Mic transmitters and receiver are already linked by default. If you need to link them again, you can do so in the following ways:
Method 1: Put the transmitters and receiver into the Charging Case and they will link automatically;
Method 2: Turn on the receiver and transmitters. Scroll the screen of the receiver downward to enter the control center page. Slide to the left and click “Settings” to enter the settings page. Slide to the left again and click “Link” to enter linking mode. Do the transmitters support standalone recording? If yes, what is the max recording time?
Yes, DJI Mic transmitters support standalone recording. Press the recording button on the side of the transmitters. Solid red light indicates that recording has started. When fully charged, it can record for up to 5.5 hours. With a constant power supply, it can record up to 14 hours of 24 bit lossless audio. Note: Audio will be saved as one file for every 30 minutes during standalone recording. When internal storage space runs out, new audio will replace the earliest ones, and new files will also be saved every 30 minutes.

How do I export audio from the DJI Mic transmitters?
You can export the audio by connecting the transmitters to your computer using a standard USB cable.

How do I mute the transmitters?
After linking the transmitters with the receiver, slide the main screen of the receiver upward, click the Mic icon, and you can mute or unmute the transmitters. You can also double press the mute button of the transmitters. The mute indicator will pulse red to show that the transmitters are muted.

Can I connect the DJI Mic transmitters with my smartphone or computer for reception? If so, how?
No.

What is the internal storage of the DJI Mic transmitters? Do the transmitters support external SD cards for storage?
DJI Mic transmitters have built-in 8GB storage and do not support external storage.

How do I delete audio from the DJI Mic transmitters?
You need to connect them with your computer and delete them. You can use the receiver for formatting. If the storage space of the DJI Mic transmitters is running out, early recordings will be replaced by new recordings.

Is the DJI Mic receiver compatible with devices that transmit audio through an XLR connector?
No.

Do the DJI Mic transmitters support third-party wireless mic receivers?
No. The transmitters only support the receiver of DJI Mic.

How do I put the windscreen onto the transmitters?
Mount the windscreen into the slots on the transmitters, then press and turn clockwise to tighten.

 

DJI Mic Receiver

Does the DJI Mic receiver support connection with the DJI wireless mic or third-party wireless mic transmitters?
No. It only supports DJI Mic transmitters.

How many transmitters can the receiver connect with?
It can connect with up to two transmitters at the same time.

How do I connect the DJI Mic Receiver with my smartphone, camera, or computer?
To connect with a smartphone: Insert a standard phone adapter into the pogo-pin port at the bottom of the transmitters and connect with your phone. Start shooting or recording on your phone and the receiver will start working.
To connect with a camera: The receiver can be mounted on a camera via the hot shoe adapter. Use a 3.5mm camera connection cable to connect the camera mic port and the 3.5mm audio output port on the receiver. Then, start recording videos on your camera and the receiver will start working.
To connect with a PC: Use a standard charging cable to connect DJI Mic with your PC, and then enter the audio input settings page for related settings.

When the DJI Mic receiver is connected with two transmitters at the same time, will the audio be recorded on the same channel or on different channels?
Under M mode, the audio recorded by the two transmitters will be in one channel; under S mode, the audio will be separated into the left and right channels.

How do I monitor during recording? Can I adjust monitoring volume?
Link the transmitters and receiver and plug the 3.5mm earphone jack into the 3.5mm monitor port of the DJI Mic receiver and you can begin monitoring. You can also adjust monitoring volume. Slide the main screen of the receiver downward to enter the settings page. Slide to the left and click monitor gain to adjust the volume.

What is the communication protocol of the transmitters and receiver?
2.4GHz private protocol.

What’s the difference between M/S/Ms modes of DJI Mic reception?
S: Stereo
M: Mono
Ms: Mono with Safety Track on
Note: If you use Safety Track, you need to separate the tracks during post production.

Can I lock the screen of the receiver? If so, how?
You can lock the receiver screen by pressing the power button for one second and the lock icon will appear on the screen. Press again and you can unlock the screen.

Can I use my phone to play back sound with DJI Mic connected?
No. However, you can connect your phone with an external Bluetooth device to play back sound.

Is Stereo mode supported when DJI Mic is connected with an iPhone using the Lightning phone adapter?
No.
