Why does my Matrice 100 drop two to three meters when hovering in place? How can I fix this issue?

This issue is mainly caused by the barometer. The barometer is used for maintaining height, but a deviations may occur due to the barometer’s accuracy. The barometer may encounter interference from airflow disturbances caused by the propellers rotating. Also, barometer performance may be affected by environmental conditions, such as high winds and the abnormal airflows between buildings. To maintain a constant altitude in a variety of situations, additional sensors need to be used, such as vision sensors and ultrasonic sensors.


Does the Matrice 100 have dual battery compartments? What’s the maximum flight time?

Yes, the Matrice 100 is built with dual battery compartments. Thus allowing you to mount an extra TB48D battery to achieve a maximum flight time of 40 minutes.

What should be paid attention to when using two batteries?

To ensure the system does not send out warnings when using two batteries, you must first power on the one connected to the main controller (the main battery) first, and then power on the other one (the secondary battery). When turning off two batteries, check if their battery levels are the same. If so, please turn off the main battery first and then the secondary battery. If the battery levels are different, turn off the one with the higher battery level before turning off the other one. If just one battery is being used, please pull the XT 60 cable out of the empty battery compartment to avoid short circuiting.


Is the Matrice 100’s GPS the same as the A2’s?

No. The A2 just contains one GPS module, while the GPS used in Matrice 100 is the updated version of A2’s. The A2’s GPS can be used on the Matrice 100 , We don’t suggest you to do so.

Can the battery compartments be mounted onto the central board?

Yes, you can mount the battery compartments onto either the bottom central board or the upper central board. To do this; place the battery compartments so that the battery terminals are pointing to the aircraft tail, and use four M2.5x5 screws to secure them onto the extension bar. Tune the aircraft’s center of gravity by adjusting the position of the compartments. To ensure the cables are not being pushed by any compartments onto the central board, pull the cables through the reserved cable hole on the upper board.


How do I connect cables when mounting a gimbal?

Connect one end of the 10 pin gimbal cable to the 10 pin port on the flight controller. Connect the other end to the 10 pin port on the gimbal lock. Follow the same steps when connecting the 8 pin gimbal cable.



Are there any restricted flying zones when flying the Matrice 100? How can I unlock these zones?

What is the obstacle avoidance range provided by the Vision Positioning System? Can I change the range?

The obstacle avoidance range includes the obstacle sensing range and the brake distance. The obstacle sensing range is 0.2 m to 20 m which is determined by an algorithm set within Guidance according to the real-time flight speed and cannot be adjusted manually. The brake distance is 2 meters by default, and can be adjusted with the DJI Assistant 2 app.


Will flight performance be affected when the obstacle avoidance function is activated?

Yes. When the obstacle avoidance function is activated, the maximum flight speed of the M100 is automatically reduced to 7 m/s by default. You can change this max flight speed with the DJI Assistant 2 app if need be. Note that the flight performance of the M100 is the same as the Inspire 1’s when the obstacle avoidance function is not activated. (Refer to the Inspire 1 specs page for more information.)

What shall I do if the ESC error warning occurs?

Check that the XT 60 power cable is well connected to the battery compartment and the central board; Check if the ESC cables are well connected to all the motors; Upgrade the ESC firmware again.



Can the H4-3D or H3-3D gimbal be mounted onto the Matrice 100?

No. However, you can mount the Zenmuse X3 onto the Matrice 100, or mount the Zenmuse X5 series onto the Matrice 100 using X5 adapters.


What propulsion system is adopted in the Matrice 100? Can I mount the DJI E800 to the Matrice 100?

The Matrice 100 adopts the custom E800 propulsion system. No, I cannot mount the DJI E800 (which is the separately sold E800 kit) on to the Matrice 100.


What are the voltage and current output ranges of the XT 30 and XT 60 ports?

For each XT 30 or XT 60 port, the voltage output range is 20-26.1 V, and the maximum current output is 10 A. Note: The total current output of all the XT 30 and XT 60 ports cannot exceed 10 A.


Can I connect other accessories to the Matrice 100?

Yes. XT 30, XT 60, GPS CAN, CAN1, and UART ports can be found on both sides of the central board. You can connect your devices to the relevant ports.


Can I use Guidance together with other DJI flight controllers or third-party flight controllers?

Currently, Guidance is only compatible with the DJI N1 flight controller, and not compatible with third-party flight controllers.



The Matrice 100 will sometimes drift 2 - 3 m up and down when hovering in the sky. What causes this problem?

This problem is caused by the barometer; the barometer is an important sensor used to detect flight altitude. There are a few reasons why the barometer may not function accurately. It could just be defect in the barometer precision that causes an error when detecting flight altitude. It could also be that the rotation of the propellers causes air turbulence that interferes with the barometer’s proper functioning. Additionally, the environment’s complex air flow (for example heavy winds or the air flow between buildings) can also impact the barometer’s sensors.



What is included in the Matrice 100 box?

The Matrice 100 comes with a center frame, remote controller, battery, battery charger, GPS, extension frame accessory pack, and propellers in the box. You will need to purchase Guidance, Guidance installation fittings, gimbal accessories, and a gimbal separately.

What video transmission system does the Matrice 100 remote controller adopt? What’s the maximum transmission range of the Matrice 100 remote controller?

An HD video transmission system is built into the Matrice 100 remote controller. Both the image quality of live video feedback and transmission reliability are greatly enhanced. The maximum transmission range is up to 5 km.


Is the Matrice 100’s gimbal the same as that of the Inspire 1?

Yes. Both aircraft carry the Zenmuse X3.


What’s the capacity of the Matrice 100 battery? What’s the maximum flight time? Can an Inspire 1 battery be used on the Matrice 100?

The capacity of the standard Matrice 100 battery is 4500 mAh with a battery voltage of 22.2 V. It has a maximum flight time of 25 minutes. The locking structure of the Inspire 1 battery is different from that of the Matrice 100’s, so the Inspire 1 battery cannot be used on the Matrice 100.


Can the Matrice 100’s landing gears absorb shocks? What’s the maximum impact force the landing gears can bear?

Yes, the Matrice 100’s landing gears can absorb shocks. They can bear the impact force of a 3 kg aircraft during landing.


When Auto Take-off is enabled, at what altitude will the aircraft take off and hover at?

The aircraft will take off and hover at 1.5 m above the ground.
