DJI Zenmuse S1 (Spotlight)
DJI’s first spotlight for Matrice 300/350 drones, the Zenmuse S1 delivers powerful illumination using LEP technology. Ideal for nighttime missions in public safety, rescue, and inspection.
Light Up The Night
Zenmuse S1 is DJI's first spotlight designed for multi-payload drone platforms, compatible with the Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 300 RTK. Utilising LEP technology, it offers high brightness and long illumination distance, and supports multiple lighting modes. This makes it ideal for public safety, emergency rescue, inspection, and other nighttime operations.
Multiple Lighting Modes
Low Beam Mode
Provides a 15° field of view (FOV) [2] within a distance of 150 metres [1], covering the illumination range of a camera at 5x zoom or above. [3] This mode is suitable for most short-distance search and inspection needs.
High Beam Mode
Utilising LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor) technology for enhanced light penetration, this mode offers a 4° field of view (FOV) [4] at a distance of 300 metres. [1] It covers the illumination range of a camera at 15x zoom or above, [3] enhancing efficiency in emergency rescue and public safety operations.
Both On Mode
Engages both low and high beams simultaneously, delivering greater central illuminance than the High Beam mode alone. It maintains the FOV of the Low Beam mode while extending the observation distance up to 500 metres. [1] This mode offers maximum illumination coverage for comprehensive situational awareness.
Strobe Mode
Zenmuse S1 supports high-frequency strobing to effectively alert and draw attention from target individuals, making it particularly useful for signalling in emergency rescue and public safety scenarios.
Brightness Meets Energy Efficiency
Zenmuse S1 delivers a maximum central illuminance of 35 lux at 100 metres [5], providing ample lighting in dark environments to clearly distinguish details of the subjects. Additionally, the power consumption in High Beam mode is only 17 W [6], reducing the power load on the drone and helping to maintain flight time.
Reliable and Intuitive
Payload Protection
Zenmuse S1 is equipped with multiple protection mechanisms for temperature, overcurrent, power and more, enhancing the product’s reliability and lifespan.
Eye Protection
When the drone is not in flight, Zenmuse S1 automatically dims the light to 40% of its maximum brightness to prevent glare and protect the operator’s vision.
Burn Protection
Zenmuse S1 features a plastic casing [7] with a contact surface temperature that does not exceed 50° C (122° F), [1] effectively preventing burn risks.
Strong Environmental Adaptability
With an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, [8] Zenmuse S1 can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -20° to 40° C (-4° to 104° F), making it adaptable to various operational environments.
Efficient Remote Controller Shortcuts
Zenmuse S1 supports customisable shortcuts on the remote controller, allowing buttons to be set for brightness adjustment, turning the light on/off, or switching lighting modes. This makes operation convenient and intuitive, significantly enhancing the user experience.
Flexible Mounting, Lightweight Build
Zenmuse S1 can be mounted to any gimbal connector of the single downward gimbal, dual downward gimbals, or the single upward gimbal, accommodating various operational needs. Weighing only 0.76 kg, [9] it is compact and easy to carry.
Mobile SDK
With the Mobile SDK, users can quickly integrate Zenmuse S1’s features into their self-developed mobile apps, unlocking the capabilities of your drone platform to meet specialised needs.

Which drone platform is Zenmuse S1 compatible with?
Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 300 RTK. The only compatible remote controller is DJI RC Plus. Before using, please update the drone and the remote controller to the latest firmware.
Onto which gimbal connector can I mount Zenmuse S1?
It can be mounted onto any gimbal connector on Matrice 350 RTK or Matrice 300 RTK.
What is the ingress protection (IP) rating of Zenmuse S1?
IP54.
Under controlled laboratory conditions, it can achieve an IP54 protection rating by IEC60529 standards. The IP rating is not permanently effective and may decrease due to product wear and tear.
What is the maximum illuminance of Zenmuse S1?
≥ 35 lux@100 m.
Measured in a laboratory environment at an ambient temperature of 25° C (77° F) with the Zenmuse S1 installed on the aircraft and using the Both On mode.
What is the illumination range of Zenmuse S1?
The Low Beam mode and the Both On mode have an FOV of 15°, corresponding to an illuminated area of approximately 544 m² at a distance of 100 m.
The High Beam mode has an FOV of 4°, corresponding to an illuminated area of approximately 38 m² at a distance of 100 m.
What are the differences between the three modes of Zenmuse S1?
The Low Beam mode provides a wide and evenly distributed beam spread, matching the field of view of Zenmuse H20/H30 series cameras at 5× zoom and above. It is suitable for ground illumination and supplementary lighting for imaging.
The High Beam mode provides a narrower but highly penetrating beam spread, matching the field of view of Zenmuse H20/H30 series cameras at 15× zoom and above. It is suitable for long-distance observation while maintaining low power consumption.
The Both On mode provides a wide beam spread and high central illuminance. It is suitable for ground operation lighting and long-distance lighting.
What precautions should be taken when using Zenmuse S1?
1. Using the spotlight in high humidity environments may cause fogging, which does not affect its optical performance. After use, please place it in a dry, ventilated area for a short period, and the fog will naturally dissipate.
2. When using the spotlight at night, there may be instances of false obstacle avoidance. You may disable obstacle avoidance if necessary and operate the aircraft and spotlight in relatively open and unobstructed areas.
3. Do not directly touch or scratch the coating on the surface of the spotlight lens with hard objects, as this may lead to a decrease in light output efficiency, affecting luminous flux and illuminance.
4. When cleaning the spotlight lens, be sure to use a soft, dry, clean cloth to wipe the lens surface. Do not use alkaline detergents.
5. Store the spotlight in a secure case and keep it dry and ventilated. The recommended ambient humidity is between 40% and 50%.
What are the application scenarios of Zenmuse S1?
Including but not limited to public safety, emergency rescue, emergency repairs, traffic enforcement, and equipment inspection.
What should I do if fogging occurs while using the Zenmuse S1?
When used in low-temperature environments, a temperature difference between the inside and outside of the lens may cause internal fogging. This is a common physical phenomenon and is difficult to avoid entirely. Based on our tests, fogging has minimal impact on illuminance and does not noticeably affect product performance. The device can be used normally.
